Summary:  As an ASD Special Education Teacher at WoodsEdge Learning Center, you will have the opportunity to provide instruction to ensure that each student makes progress toward individual stated goals using multisensory strategies and varied teaching techniques by performing the following duties. Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; Special education endorsement in Autism

 

Certificates, License, Registration:

K-12 Michigan Certification; Autistic Impaired Endorsement

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Assists in the supervision of AI paraprofessionals: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include training paraprofessionals; planning, assigning, and directing work

 

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to reach with arms and hands, stand, walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  The employee must support and transfer students who are unable to completely bear weight on their own with the assistance of other staff.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:  

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
