Summary:
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects for the MiDataHub team. This role involves managing technical specifications, guiding implementations, and ensuring project goals are achieved. The TPM will define project requirements, assess completed deliverables, and provide regular updates to the executive director and advisory committee throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical strategy for the Michigan Datahub, including defining objectives, deliverables, and timelines for technical programs.
- Act as the technical product owner for data specifications, leading the creation and management of data standards and frameworks to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment with the Michigan Datahub’s goals.
- Develop a comprehensive technical roadmap to proactively achieve goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including staff, advisory committees, state representatives, and contractors.
- Manage and supervise the execution of technical projects, ensuring they are completed within established parameters.
- Identify potential risks and create strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development teams and integrated vendors.
- Maintain thorough documentation of program plans, processes, and outcomes.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring their deliverables and performance meet program objectives.
Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Kalamazoo RESA handbook.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of application programming in multiple languages
- 5+ years administering/tuning Microsoft SQL Server or Postgres
- 2+ years Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Certificates, License, Registration:
- Project Management Certification or Coursework (Preferred)
